Community Service
Baylor College of Medicine's commitment to service does not stop at the college doors. Instead, it reaches throughout the city and state and around the globe.
BCM faculty, students and staff work in many parts of Houston to care for people—like the homeless—whose needs are not met through traditional medical avenues. They can be found attending to children in South Texas who suffer from cancer and blood disorders. Programs like the Baylor International Pediatric AIDS Initiative reach out even further to address worldwide health issues.
Educational outreach efforts are also part of our commitment to service. Members of the BCM family might be found working on innovative projects at local schools, for example, or updating physicians on the latest medical advances through continuing education programs.
